The Right Rev. Dr. Terry Michael Brown (1944- ) was born in Iowa City, Iowa, USA. He earned his Master of Divinity at Trinity College, Toronto School of Theology in 1974. He was ordained deacon 1974 and priest in 1975 with the Anglican Church of Canada. The Rev. Terry Brown was lecturer at Bishop Patteson Theological Centre in the Solomon Islands from 1975-1981. From 1981-1984 he was Divinity Tutor of Church History at Trinity College, Toronto and then Asia/Pacific Mission Coordinator for the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada, 1985-1996. He travelled extensively in the Asia Pacific region and formed many relationships there. In 1996, he was elected and consecrated Bishop of Malaita, Anglican Church of Melanesia, a position he held until 2008 when he retired. Terry Brown earned a Th.D. in church history from Trinity College, 1987. His thesis was entitled, Metacosmesis: The Christian Marxism of Frederic Hastings Smyth and the Society of the Catholic Commonwealth”.
