Hugh McKellar (d.2012) was a retired high school English teacher and librarian. He was a remarkable humanitarian and long-time volunteer at both the national office of the Anglican Church of Canada and the office of the diocese of Toronto, as well as many other organizations. McKellar had a passion for choral music and was an expert in hymnology.
Fonds consists of a an essay on hymns in the aboriginal languages of Canada, an offprint of the printed version of the history of Hymn texts in the aboriginal language – articles prepared for the Dictionary of American Hymnology. Also includes, A booklet of biographical sketches on Hymn Writers of Canada.
