Biographical Sketch:
George Jehoshaphat Mountain (1789-1863) graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, England in 1810 and was ordained deacon in 1812 and priest in 1814. He was appointed Archdeacon of Lower Canada, 1821 and consecrated a suffragan bishop in 1836, with the title of Bishop of Montreal. Founder of Bishop’s College, Lennoxville, Quebec and author of several publications.
