The Diocese of Saskatchewan was founded in 1874.  In 1933, the diocese was divided between the north and the south.  The northern portion retained the title, Diocese of Saskatchewan and covers 135,000 sq. miles in northern Saskatchewan.  The Synod was organized in 1933.  The Synod office and cathedral are in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

The Diocese of Saskatchewan had several residential schools: All Saints Indian Residential School, Lac La Ronge, SK (1906-1947); Mackay Indian Residential School, The Pas, MB (1915-1933); Prince Albert Indian Residential School, Prince Albert, SK (1948-1969); St. Alban’s Indian Residential School, Prince Albert, SK (1944-1951); St. Barnabas Indian Residential School, Onion Lake, SK (1893-1943)
