Sharing the story of the Anglican Church’s commitment to ministry in Canada’s North
The Council of the North engages with Anglicans across Canada by sharing its stories of pastoral and sacramental ministry, fostering awareness throughout the wider church and growing support for its ministry and mission in the north.
Speaking engagements are a tangible way for Anglicans to connect with and respond directly to those who deliver ministry to remote and isolated communities in our Council dioceses. We invite the wider community to join us in sharing these stories of ministry in the north.
Become a speaker
As opportunities become available throughout the year, we recruit Bishops of the Council of the North and clergy and lay leaders of Council Dioceses to engage as public speakers at national and regional events, conferences, general meetings and Diocesan Synods. Your participation as a speaker will open hearts to the gospel message and create public awareness of the ministry of the Council of the North.
- Your commitment can be either ongoing or for a one-time event.
- Travel and expenses provided.
- Speakers must be approved by the Council of the North.
For more information on becoming a speaker for the Council of the North, contact the Council of the North communications team by email at [email protected].
Request a speaker
To request a speaker, the Council of the North communications team must receive a written request (this can be via email). Please allow as much lead-time as possible prior to your event for us to locate an appropriate speaker, preferably at least 8-10 weeks in advance. This consideration is necessary to give speakers adequate notice, ensure minimal disruption to their work schedules, and provide adequate advance notice to the requester that a speaker will or will not be available. Please note, however, that we cannot guarantee that all requests will be filled.
For more information and to request a speaker for your event, email the Council of the North communications team at [email protected].
