Visitors to the Anglican Church of Canada’s General Synod web site (www.anglican.ca) will have noticed that we vanished for most of yesterday.
In the words of Information Technology specialist Mariana Bell, the General Synod web site and all other associated web sites (such as Anglican Journal) was “exploited by an as-yet unknown source.”
The intrusion meant that in the interest of security one of our servers had to be replaced. That work took most of Thursday.
Some work remains to be done, but the web site is now accessible again. We apologize for any inconvenience or bewilderment this incident may have caused.
