Where is God when 150,000 people lose their lives in a natural disaster?
God is in the glimmer of hope for the future of humanity seen through the overwhelming response to the victims from all over the world, says Archbishop Andrew Hutchison, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada.
In a segment of the webcast Conversations with the Primate posted to the www.anglican.ca web site Wednesday, Jan 19, the Anglican Primate says that the hope that arises from the response to the tsunami is that the people of the world could come together in a similar way to address other preventable disasters such as AIDS and genocide.
“Can we come together in a common cause to respond to those other ongoing tragedies?”, he asks.
Conversations with the Primate is produced by Anglican Video and posted to the Anglican web site once a month. People can access the streaming video by visiting www.anglican.ca and clicking on the webcast button to either view or download.
Viewers are also invited to respond to the webcast by writing to Archbishop Hutchison at [email protected]. Production of the webcast is financially assisted by the Anglican Foundation.
