Faces & Ministries, a new General Synod publication available on the web and in print this week, describes the myriad ministries carried out from the Anglican church’s national office and presents the people behind the work.
The publication is best seen as a companion piece to the Narrative Budget released a few weeks ago. That publication explained how the church gathers resources and how those resources fund the works that General Synod has decided are priorities.
Faces & Ministries, traditionally produced before each gathering of General Synod, describes this work in greater detail and, through the photography of Michael Hudson, puts faces to the names in the General Synod directory.
In the past, this publication was produced as a special edition ofMinistryMatters, which is not being published in 2007 because of financial constraints.
“But despite the limitations on resource production mandated by the 2007 budget, we still felt that this publication ought to go ahead because of the importance of helping Anglicans in the pew understand where their contributions are going,” said Communication Director Vianney Carriere.
Delegates to General Synod will be receiving both Faces & Ministries and the Narrative Budget as part of their Convening Circular.
