Nominations for General Synod’s inaugural Companion of the Worship Arts are now open. The honour will be conferred to an individual who has made significant contribution to the worship life of the Anglican Church of Canada at the local, diocesan, and national levels. It recognizes the recipient’s ongoing inspiration and encouragement to others, together with service to God through worship, spirituality, and the arts.
The Anglican Companion of the Worship Arts parallels a longstanding conferral celebrated by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and is a response to an invitation from our full communion partner. For the first time in 2014, two Companions will be honoured—one from the ELCIC and one from the ACC. The ceremony will take place at the joint national worship conference, “Weaving Strands: Liturgy for Life,” July 20 through 23, 2014 in Edmonton.
Nominations are due by March 21, 2014 and can be submitted online, by email, or in hardcopy. Please click here for more information.
