Remember the Church with a legacy gift
Through faithful discipleship, vibrant worship, and compassionate social engagement, Canadian Anglicans are creating sustainable churches, stronger and more caring communities, and a truly just, healthy, and peaceful world. When you make a legacy gift, you become a champion of this transformation.
Here are some of the ways to make a legacy gift to your church or other beloved charity:
Charitable Bequests
Through your Will, you can ensure that the ministries you have supported during your lifetime are funded for generations to come.
RRSPs & RRIFs
It is a simple and tax efficient process to name your church or other charity as a beneficiary of your registered account.
Life Insurance
While we usually think of life insurance as a way of providing for loved ones at the time of death, it can also be a way to multiply your legacy.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have appreciated in value are a tax-smart way to make a legacy gift.
Remembering the National Church with a legacy gift
In addition to remembering their local church, or a beloved diocesan ministry, many Canadian Anglicans also choose to designate the philanthropic branches of the national Anglican Church of Canada as beneficiaries of legacy gifts.
Giving with Grace
Giving with Grace is the face of Anglican generosity in support of God’s mission on a national level. Giving with Grace invites you to join others to help the ministries of The Anglican Church of Canada make real transformation in communities here at home and abroad. Ministries include the Anglican Healing Fund, Anglican Military Ordinariate, Council of the North, Faith, Worship, and Ministry, Global Relations, Indigenous Ministries, and Public Witness for Social and Ecological Justice.

PWRDF
The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) is The Anglican Church of Canada’s agency for sustainable development and relief. Established in 1958 as an Anglican response to the Springhill Mine disaster, PWRDF works closely with trusted partners in Canada and across the globe to respond to emergencies and humanitarian crises, and to drive positive change in health, women’s and girls’ empowerment, food security, climate change, and Indigenous initiatives.
Anglican Foundation of Canada
For more than 65 years the Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) has been a trusted guardian of the generous legacies of visionary Canadian Anglicans. By investing generously in church infrastructure—so that church buildings are safe, accessible, and welcoming—and by driving innovation fearlessly, with a special focus on youth-focused programs through the Say Yes! to Kids program, AFC is growing community and connection across the Canadian church.

With thoughtful planning, many people are surprised to discover that they can give a much larger legacy gift than they ever imagined possible—without jeopardizing their own financial security and while still providing for their children and other heirs.
There are many ways to make a planned legacy gift. Each has its own benefits and tax considerations, so it is important to consult a trusted professional estate planner, financial adviser, or tax specialist before taking action.
