The face of anglican.ca is about to change into a new, cleaner and more streamlined form designed to help you get where you want to go with less effort.
The redesign of the home page for the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada will move away from a “news format” in favour of a series of thematic and departmental links that should have visitors a single click away from the information or resource they want.
The redesign recognizes that most people who visit the church’s national website in search of news are likely to look first at the Anglican Journal, which itself has undergone a sweeping redesign launched this summer. The Journal site will be readily findable from the General Synod home page.
The news releases and short features that, until now, have formed the focus of the anglican.ca web site will still be produced and will remain available as resources reachable from the home page.
The new site will also provide a quick way of navigating to associated web sites such as those of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund and generation.anglican.ca. Generation.anglican.ca focuses on topics of interest to young Anglicans while the PWRDF site provides full information on the church’s involvement in areas such as disaster relief and development.
The familiar links to church department and to other sites in the Anglican Communion will also remain.
