The following candidates, having been nominated by synod council, have indicated to the Electoral Synod Nominations and Planning Committee their willingness to stand for election as coadjutor bishop.
As leaders of minority faith communities in Quebec we feel compelled to express our deep distress at the manner in which the religious neutrality law passed by the National Assembly implicitly targets another minority religious group in this province.
Approximately twenty laity and clergy gathered in Saskatoon, June 6-9, to consider how to equip and encourage a new generation of ministry leaders in the Anglican Provinces of British Columbia and Rupert’s Land.
It’s the first Treaty signed in Western Canada and it was signed before there even was a Canada. It marks the beginning of the relationship between First Nations and the Crown in Western Canada.
Recently, I took part in the Pilgrimage for Indigenous Rights, organized by Mennonite Church Canada and Christian Peacemaker Teams ‒ Indigenous Peoples’ Solidarity Project. Between April 22 and May 14, 30-60 people from diverse ages, stories, and backgrounds participated in this 600km walk.

As you know by now and as you will see elsewhere in this newsletter, my successor Padre Nigel Shaw was chosen by members of the Anglican Military Ordinariate on March 5th and ratified by the Primate and the four Metropolitans (Regional Archbishops). This is good news indeed and we wish Nigel, Janet and their family every blessing in this new and blessed ministry.
A motion passed by the members of the Council of General Synod (CoGS) to conduct part of their business on the first day of their meeting in camera. This meeting of CoGS from March 10-13, marks the last CoGS meeting for the current triennium.

I received the message at 0700 in the morning 14, Jan 2010. The Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) was to be deployed to Port au Prince, Haiti and I was to be their Chaplain. By 1900 I had packed my kit (which was, previously, carefully packed for winter exercises), said goodbye to my family and was aboard a bus to Trenton. Just over 200 of us flew out first thing the next day to ground zero of the disaster zone.
