On Saturday, July 25th the Council of General Synod confirmed the appointment of the Ven. Alan Perry as General Secretary of the Anglican Church of Canada as of September 1, 2020.
The Ven. Michael Thompson has served the General Synod for eleven years as General Secretary. During that time Michael offered guidance and leadership to the regular work of General Synod in addition to the administration of the Residential Schools settlement agreement and implementation of Vision 2019.
Today marks the beginning of what was to have been an 11-day gathering of more than 800 Anglican bishops from across the global communion for the gathering of the 15th Lambeth Conference in the Anglican Communion.

The Anglican Church of Canada (ACC) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 Companion of the Worship Arts (CWA).
Bishops of the Anglican Church of Canada have issued a statement to remind everyone of the Church’s commitment to confronting racism in its own life and acknowledging the place of racism and colonialism in Canada. They have stated that “this commitment needs to be renewed daily”.
