Primate appeals for action on affordable housing

Homelessness and the lack of affordable housing are a “pernicious plague” which the new federal government must address immediately, says Archbishop Andrew Hutchison, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada.

In an article published on the op-ed page of The Globe and Mail, the Anglican Primate notes that housing was identified as a major issue in the recent federal election campaign. “It is in the power of our federal government to kick-start these plans immediately by putting people before politics and by honouring its 2005 financial commitment to affordable housing,” Archbishop Hutchison wrote.
