A revised plan to guide the work and mission of the Anglican Church of Canada from 2004 to 2010 has now been sent to church committees. The committees and Anglicans in the pew are invited to comment.
The document, entitled Strengthening the Church, Serving God’s World – A framework for the work and mission of the General Synod, 2004 – 2010, is meant to replace a strategic plan adopted in 1995. A first draft of the framework was circulated earlier in the fall.
The new version – Draft 2A – includes a number of revisions made as a result of fall meetings of the House of Bishops and the Council of General Synod. The framework will be before the council at it’s spring meeting and then be considered by General Synod when it gathers in St. Catharines, Ont., in late May.
